Rayan Ait-Nouri, a Chelsea and Manchester City target, has a price tag set by Wolves
Thomas Tuchel is seeking for a new left-back this summer to replace the injured Ben Chilwell, with Marcos Alonso appearing increasingly set to leave Stamford Bridge for Barcelona.
Tuchel is in desperate need of defensive cover after losing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, while club captain Cesar Azpilicueta has been linked with a move to the Nou Camp. Ait Nouri has been touted as a possible signing.
The Blues were initially interested in Brighton’s Marc Cucurella, but the Spaniard has been connected with Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola’s side poised to make a move for him soon. Ait-Nouri has been seen as a cheaper alternative who is already used to playing as a wing-back.
Wolves, according to The Sun, want £45 million for the 21-year-old, who has two goals and seven assists since arriving at Molineux in 2020.
City are also keeping an eye on Ait-Nouri in case they don’t sign Cucurella, with Guardiola prioritizing a new left-back because his current alternatives, Joao Cancelo and Oleksandr Zinchenko, aren’t naturals in that position, and the latter is rumored to be on his way out.
Alternatively, if Cucurella joins the Citizens, Brighton might make a move for Ait-Nouri, although they are unlikely to match Wolves’ valuation of the player, despite having already sold Yves Bissouma to Tottenham for £25 million.
