Hajiya Yar-Sokoto Jega, the Women’s Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi Central, Kebbi State, has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Jega stated this during her remarks on Wednesday at an event in Birnin Kebbi.

She claimed that she left the party due to unfairness and a lack of focused leadership.

Jega added that she joined the party with more than 800 followers and cited Gov. Atiku Bagudu’s multiple accomplishments as the reason for her decision to join the APC.

“I have been a member of the PDP for a long time, but the party has abandoned us and has nothing to show for it.

“I even donate money to the party’s cause, but despite this, I have not noticed any improvement in the lives of my constituents, particularly the ladies I stand for.

I was in charge of eight local government areas for the PDP prior to my defection, and I departed with the majority of my supporters, according to Jega.

Among the dignitaries present at the occasion were Alhaji Sani Zauro, Chairman of the State APC Elders Forum, Alhaji Faruk Musa-Yaro, Personal Assistant to the State Governor, and Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru, the State APC Chairman.
