Only hours after his side was ousted from the Champions League, Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, was nominated for the best Premier League manager award for April.

The former Barcelona coach led his team to the Santiago Bernabeu with the purpose of upsetting Real Madrid, but Rodrygo and Karim Benzema defeated them 3-1.

Manchester City was undefeated in five Premier League games in April, allowing them to maintain their advantage at the top of the table.

In April, the Citizens defeated Watford, Leeds United, Burnley, Brighton, and drew 2-2 with Liverpool, according to the Man City website.

Manchester City will want to focus on their Premier League championship campaign, despite being in a close battle with Liverpool, following their failure in the UEFA Champions League.

Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool, Thomas Frank of Brentford, and Mike Jackson of Burnley are the three coaches nominated for the Premier League’s best coach award in April.
