In the wake of a link to Chelsea, former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has warned that Chelsea target Raheem Sterling is not a world-class player.

According to the Chelsea Chronicle, Sterling might leave Manchester City this summer, and Chelsea is one of the teams associated with him.

Jordan, on the other hand, believes that the England international’s possible exit will have little impact on Pep Guardiola’s side next season.

“I don’t believe he is a world-class athlete.” Jordan told talkSPORT, “I think he’s a very excellent player; else, he wouldn’t play for his country.”

“I believe he is a capable player. I don’t believe he’s even close to being as good as people make him out to be.

“He’s a good player, but I don’t think his departure would put Man City in jeopardy.”

Sterling moved to Manchester City from Liverpool in a £57.3 million deal in 2015.
