Raheem Sterling would benefit from moving from Manchester City to Chelsea, according to Steve McManaman, but Pep Guardiola’s team won’t be impacted at all.

Despite Chelsea links, Steve McManaman believes that losing Raheem Sterling won't have an impact on Manchester City

Since Sterling’s contract is up next summer, City are apparently willing to let him depart for the right price. Stamford Bridge has been linked to him on numerous occasions.

Since transferring from Liverpool to the Etihad in 2015, the 27-year-old has scored an astounding 131 goals and provided 95 assists, winning four Premier League championships and five domestic cups.

In agreement, McManaman told Horseracing.net: “I think it’ll be a positive transfer for Raheem because he’s an excellent player and his goals over the last few years have demonstrated that.” Thomas Tuchel is eager to add the attacker to his team.

“I wouldn’t say he’s better than Jack Grealish and Riyad Mahrez, but I don’t believe that’s the proper comparison because they’re all different players,” I would say.

This rumor has started to circulate for the past week or two, so there must be some truth to it. There must be some validity to this rumor, especially if Romelu Lukaku departs, since if it were a no-go and Chelsea weren’t interested, this narrative would have been put to rest a while ago.

After his disastrous return to Chelsea last season, Lukaku is likely to re-join Inter Milan on loan, and the Blues need a consistent goal scorer if they are to contend for the title.

Despite the fact that McManaman admires Sterling, the former Liverpool, Real Madrid, and City player does not believe that the Citizens’ chances of winning a championship the next year will be harmed by his departure.

Pep Guardiola might be content for the player to leave for a title challenger despite the fact that he knows he will keep Bernardo Silva, Mahrez, and Grealish, the author continued.

Leroy Sané was a tremendously talented player, and Pep let him depart a couple of years ago. They nevertheless carried on and won the league.

You simply have to believe in Pep and his intentions, as well as those of the player. However, Manchester City are fortunate in those areas. If a player informs the manager that they want to go but want to play more games, that is the current state of football.

The favorites to win every trophy in 2019 are Manchester City. Chelsea’s not one. There are currently too many unanswered questions surrounding Chelsea, including the takeover, which players are leaving, which members of their hierarchy are leaving, which players will be joining, and how much of a transfer budget they have.
