Chelsea is set to make an offer for Arsenal Star Player in exchange for £34 million
Chelsea is reportedly planning a straight-swap deal for Arsenal target Arthur Melo, according to Calcio Mercato Web. After failing to sign the Brazilian in January, the Gunners had reopened talks with him this summer.
Werner, 26, has had a difficult time since arriving at Stamford Bridge in 2020. Despite the anticipation, the Germany international has only scored 23 goals in 89 games. He has, however, been resourceful, dishing up a total of 21 assists.
Werner is valued at around £34 million by Chelsea, who want Arthur to improve their midfield. Both sides are thought to be eager to reach a deal, so a swap arrangement could be on the table shortly.
It comes after rumours that Arsenal had reopened talks with Arthur and had reached an agreement on personal matters. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea’s prospective exchange agreement throws a spanner in Arsenal’s works.
Is there really a need for another midfielder at Chelsea? Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mason Mount, N’Golo Kante, and others are among the players they have. Conor Gallagher and Billy Gilmour are among those returning from a loan.
In the middle of the park, they are well-stocked. However, the futures of a lot of those players are in doubt, and Juventus are interested in Werner. It’s possible that the two parties will reach an arrangement for Arthur’s sake.
Arsenal, who require a midfielder far more than Chelsea, will suffer a major setback. After been connected for so long, Arthur is definitely someone the Gunners admire. Where Arthur ends up will be intriguing to watch.
