Chelsea are close to completing a £35 million deal for Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling
Chelsea believe they have won the race to sign England forward Raheem Sterling and are working on a £35 million agreement with Manchester City.
After seven years at the club, the former Liverpool man is ready to depart the Etihad.
Sterling’s current contract expires in 12 months, and while he hasn’t submitted a transfer request, he has told Pep Guardiola that he’s open to a fresh challenge.
The London-born winger is eager to return to the city, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, who claims Chelsea are now confident of completing a £35 million transfer.
Thomas Tuchel has been handed considerable funds to invest in his frontline, with Romelu Lukaku poised to return to Inter Milan, and he believes Sterling can play a more vital position at Stamford Bridge.
Last season, Sterling lost his starting spot with City, but Guardiola was anxious to keep him.
