The Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, have requested that Google remove their YouTube channels.
Lai Mohammed, the minister of information and culture, made the announcement while hosting a group of Google representatives on Thursday in Abuja.
He clarified that the demand was made because IPOB is a banned organization.
He named a number of them, including Asa Biafra TV, Biafra Digest TV, Umu Biafra TV, and Biafra Digest.
To avoid being censored, Mohammed asked that some of the networks broadcast in local dialects.
“Your platform is a platform of choice for IPOB, a terrorist organization that is outlawed,” he declared.
“We beg you not to give them access to your platform for their acts of violence and unrest.
We sincerely hope that you will work with us and our security agencies to achieve this.

The highest civilian national honors of the Niger Republic were recently bestowed upon members of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
Buhari expressed happiness with the development in a statement released on Thursday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.
He continued by expressing his hope that the friendship and understanding between Nigeria and the Niger Republic will endure.
According to a statement from Buhari, “he saw the honor bestowed upon them as representative of the longtime relationship that exists between the two nations and their peoples.”
The long-standing friendship and productive cooperation between the two states would continue to strengthen, he added, “expressed optimism.”
